DAISY'S LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS

I have lived in the Northern Rivers region (on & off) for 10+ years. Prior to guiding tours around Australia, I managed highly reputed bars, restaurants and catering businesses in Australia and overseas. I love food and appreciate fine wine and service.
Here are my personal favourite restaurants and bars in and around Byron Bay:

Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, The Hut, located in Possum Creek in the Byron Hinterlands serves high quality food, world-class seafood and offers a curated wine list - particularly featuring French varieties. Situated in a beautifully restored school-house amidst lush gardens, it offers a charming and tranquil dining atmosphere.

Bar Heather.jpg

This Parisian-inspired restaurant and natural wine bar emphasises seasonal produce sourced from the local Northern Rivers region. Chef Ollie Wong from renowned Sydney establishments like Ester and Sixpenny, crafts dishes that blend from Asian and French influences. They boast an extensive selection of over 800 wines!

Frida's Field_edited.jpg

Frida's Field is a 120-acre regenerative farm, restaurant and event space located in the Bay Bay Hinterland. Frida's Field is open for lunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, offering seasonal, organic produce sourced from their own market garden, food forest orchard, paddocks and selected local Northern Rivers producers. Simply exceptional!

Their menu changes daily, depicted by their garden and is thoughtfully curated to compliment the venue's beautiful setting offering panoramic views of the hinterland and the ocean. Fig Tree is for the very special occasions. Limited availabilty.
