The beaches are the heart of Byron and define the regions coastal charm. Whether you're seeking calm, protected shores or the world-renowned surf breaks, there is a beach for every type of visitor. CAPE BYRON WALKING TRACK
The Cape Byron Walking Track is one of Australia's most breathtaking coastal walks, offering panoramic ocean views, lush rainforest and encounters with local wildlife. The 3.7km | 2.3 mile loop takes you from Main Beach through to Clarkes Beach, past the world famous surf break at The Pass and up to Cape Byron Lighthouse - the most Eastern point of the Australian mainland. Along the way you'll pass by Wategoes Beach and the secluded Little Wategoes Beach, the perfect spot to cool off with a surf or a swim! Keep an eye out for dolphins and turtles, all year! Between June - November, you'll witness Humpback Whales breaching!

BUSKING IN BYRON
Byron has a bustling busking scene where musicians, performers and artists bring the streets to life with creativity! From acoustic guitars to the sounds of the didgeridoo to fire performances and poets - Byron embraces street performers as part of its culture. Jonson Street (the main street) and Main Beach are popular busking locations. Popular Aussie artists that have made a name for themselves on the streets of Byron include Ziggy Alberts, Kyle Lionhart, Tay Oskee, Tash Sultana & Tones And I.
