Indigenous Artwork
Aboriginal art styles differ, region to region. Art centres & galleries play a vital role in Aboriginal communities, supporting Culture whilst generating employment and financial returns to talented Indigenous artists.
Ensure your art purchases has an Indigenous Art Code to certify that the dealer complies with the code of conduct that determines their commitment to fair & ethical dealings with the Indigenous artist(s).

The best way to purchase artwork is in person, directly with the artist, through human connection with an Aboriginal artist or their family member. Engage with local people selling their works on the streets of their local community. Genuine Aboriginal paintings being sold without the middle-man mark up price (art centre) will not require the Indigenous Art Code. Kindly ask the artist to sign their works after you purchase.
